Brett Coghlan

I have worked in EMS since 1984, working 33 years as a paramedic. I have held many positions with different ambulance services over the years, including Austin County EMS. Since 1989, multiple EMS & Ambulance services have utilized him for the ordering of their supplies. I have worked off and on for Austin County EMS, both as a part-time and full-time employee, since 1995.

In 2017 I was promoted to Logistics Coordinator. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I was able to get not only our service, but multiple law enforcement agencies much needed PPE. I also sourced PPE for local nursing homes in the county as well.

I have served on the Texas Ambulance Association Board of Directors for 17 plus years and active in the Texas Ambulance Association for over 20 years.  I have been to the legislature in Austin every regular session since 1989.  I have also served on the Rural Task Force of the Governor’s EMS & Trauma Advisory Council (GETAC) and helped compile the Texas Elected Officials’ Guide to Emergency Medical Services. I have been a TEEX EMS adjunct instructor since 2007 and TEEX EMS Advisory Board member as well.

I have been married to my wife Dee for almost 33 years.  We have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.  We love to travel and have driven to all 48 connecting states in the last 7 years.
